World Theatre Day

March 27 is celebrated as World Theatre Day. Established by the International Theatre Institute (ITI) in 1961, World Theatre Day is observed annually to celebrate the power of theatre as an art form and its importance in promoting cultural exchange, understanding, and peace. It is a day to honor theatre practitioners, including actors, playwrights, directors, designers, and technicians, and to raise awareness about the value of theatre in society. On this day, various events, performances, workshops, and discussions are organized worldwide to highlight the significance of theatre and its ability to inspire, entertain, and provoke thought.
